A Family Affair

The boys headed West once again to celebrate the marriage of Kay-kay and Andy. Although the older brother was a little shy at times, he had a blast with some of his favorite people in the world including the bride and Nana Lou. Little guy was happy to be passed around like the happy little snuggly doll. The reader of this blog will note the fuzz on his head in some of these photos, thus proving that he is not entirely bald.

Just Hangin' Out

After vacationing at the river, the boys made a stop in Utah before heading back to the Midwest. The little guy met his great grandparents, Uncle Will, and others. He likes every one he meets, greeting others with excitement and big smiles.

the River

The boys got to experience The River. The older one never quite adjusted to the time change and was up early enough to catch the sunrise. When the grandparents and cousins woke up he would sometimes, run and jump off the dock or ride in the boat, but he was more likely found splashing in the kiddie pool with Ingrid and his aunts and uncles. He and cousin Ingrid were good afternoon loungers, catching movies in the cool house on pillows. But when it came to lounging, no one rivaled the little guy. For being such a beginner, he pretty much ruled vacationing at the river.

they come from all over

With a baby comes lots of visitors. Teenie was keeping the older brother and the house well taken care of while his parents busied themselves with figuring out life with a newborn again. Then the little family was visited by Will and Rebecca passing through from Florida.

Not too much later came Nana Lou and Katilin. The chaos started with being stuck in the airport in Chicago all night because the lights weren't working on the runway. After she finally arrived a crazy store occurred, taking out trees and the power for several days. As the days passed on with no power, eating and staying cool became a problem and the boys' parents were getting a little cranky. Luckily Nana Lou and Kaitlin were civilized and kept the older brother happy throughout the ordeal.
Aunt Kaitlin ended up staying for the 4th and got to enjoy the parade. The little guy, however, was unimpressed and slept through the whole thing.
Afterwards, the older brother got wet first in the backyard and then at the state park beach where he made some friends building sand castles.
The little guy isnt sure why his older brother is so sad about posing for this photo - they sure love their Aunt Sara who was also able to make a visit!

A blessing from heaven

This little guy is really, really sweet. His parents really like him. His older brother likes him a lot too. He helps out with soothing and bathing and does his best to make sure he and everyone else is quiet while his younger brother naps. All in all, the clan is quite pleased to the little guy as a new member.

Enter Owen

Given the growing size of his mommy's tummy as well as the sporadic movements within, it became clear to the toddler that a baby would soon arrive. Nevertheless, it was summertime and fun was needed to be had.

One morning in June, the young toddler awoke to find his mama and dad had gone to the hospital in the middle of the night. He hung out with Teenie until he could get a ride to visit the new little brother. He was very happy to meet the new addition, as well as all the other sights that a hospital offers a young child.

Owen Augustus came into the world much easier than his older brother. He was a fat and happy 9 1/2 pounds, and cuddly from the start. His mother couldnt have asked for a better birthday gift. The whole little family was so very happy.

Friends

Theo's got some great friends to hang out with.

Sometimes they go out and do cool things like watch parades or play in the park or whatever they feel like.

Here's Theo w/ his buddy watching their dads go to school.

He and Gracie tend to get silly,

but he's sure to be careful with his littler friends like his cousin Christina.
